Lebanon seniors Raegan McCowan and Heaven Shockley combined for 64 points and led the Yellowjackets to a 73-51 win over the Nevada Lady Tigers in both teams season opener Tuesday night in Lebanon.

McCowan, a 5-11 guard who has already signed to play at Western Illinois University, poured in 34 points while the six-foot Shockley contributed 31 points inside as the duo scored all but nine of the Lady Jackets points.

Nevada's Clara Swearingen led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 19 points while fellow guard Maddy Majors contributed 15 as the Lady Tigers did most of their scoring from the outside.

After falling behind 11-3, Nevada battled back to take the lead 23-21 in the second quarter. The lead changed hands a couple of more times before Lebanon took a 35-31 advantage to the locker room at halftime. The Lady Jackets took control of the game by outscoring the Lady Tigers 19-8 in the third period with McCowan scoring 12 points in the that stanza alone.

Nevada starts the season at 0-1 but head coach Blake Howarth says they knew they had a challenge against the Class 6 team in Lebanon and they still learned plenty to work with.
