The Nevada Lady Tigers will take the basketball court for some pre-Thanksgiving action Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers head to Lebanon Tuesday night to face the Yellowjackets in a matchup of teams anticipating success this season.

Nevada returns most of their lineup that went 17-9 including an undefeated Big 8 West championship followed by an overall Big 8 title after defeating the champs from the East, Springfield Catholic. Nevada returns the Big 8 West player of the year in junior guard Clara Swearingen who averaged over 16 points a game as a sophomore.

Among those also returning for Nevada are guard Maddy Majors who earned second team all-conference honors and and forward Abbey Heathman who was an honorable mention pick.

The Lady Tigers will face a Lebanon team that lost four starters off a 20-7 team a year ago. However, the Yellowjackets do return 5-11 senior Raegan McCowan who has already signed a letter of intent at Western Illinois University. McCowan, as a junior, averaged 19.5 points and 8.6 rebounds a contest and has recorded 29 double-double's in her career. Third year Nevada head coach Blake Howarth says playing a strong schedule will help them later in the season.
