CARDINALS SHUTOUT AGAIN BY PADRES

The St. Louis Cardinals were shutout for the third consecutive game during a 1-0 loss Wednesday night to the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

St. Louis managed just two hits during the entire game. Albert Pujols broke up a no-hitter from Blake Snell with a single in the 7th.

The games lone run came in the bottom of the second when San Diego's Austin Nola picked up an RBI single to center.

Miles Mikolas was tagged with his 13th loss after giving up just one unearned run. He says he understands that sometimes offenses struggle and you get a tough loss.

The 87-and-63 Cardinals lead the NL Central by seven-and-a-half games over the Brewers. Jack Flaherty starts for St. Louis against San Diego Thursday at 3:10 p.m. central time with Cardinal Network coverage starting at 2:15 p.m. on 99.9 FM and AM 1240, KNEM.
