MJ Melendez crushed his 17th home run as the Kansas City Royals beat the Minnesota Twins 5-2 Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

Salvador Perez had three hits in the victory. Melendez says the Royals have the ability to produce up and down the lineup.

Anthony Misiewicz picked up his first win in relief, while Scott Barlow earned his 23rd save.

Kansas City has won three of four to improve to 60-and-89. Jonathan Heasley takes the mound for Kansas City against the Twins Thursday at 1:10 p.m.
