The St. Louis Cardinals have moved into a first place tie with the Milwaukee Brewer in the National League Central Division after a doubleheader sweep of the Chicago Cubs Thursday at Busch Stadium.

The Redbirds won the opener 4-3 as Lars Nootbar provided a game tying sacrifice fly in the seventh and then walked it off with an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth scoring Nolan Arenado from second.

St. Louis rallied from a 3-0 nothing deficit to get the win and reliever Ryan Helsley earned the win getting three outs in the top of the ninth.

In the nightcap, newly acquired Jose Quintana won in his debut on the mound in a Cardinals uniform as St. Louis beat Chicago 7-2 to complete the three game sweep.

Quintana pitched six innings giving up one run on one hit with seven strikeouts but ended up with a no-decision.

Arenado and Tyler O'Neill each homered for St. Louis. O'Neill hit a three run shot in the seventh that broke a 2-2 tie.

With the Brewers losing 5-4 at Pittsburg Thursday, both teams are 57-48 and tied atop the NL Central. Cardinals manager Ollie Marmol says he likes where his team is at going into the final two months of the season.
