GOLDY AND ARENADO POWER CARDINALS TO 5-4 WIN OVER BREWERS

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado homered as the St. Louis Cardinals edged the Brewers 5-4 in Milwaukee.

Trailing 4-3 going to the top of the sixth, Arenado's blast against Brewers starter Eric Lauer put the Redbirds up to stay.

Goldschmidt put the Cardinals on top briefly with a two run shot in the first. Andrew McCutchen and Rowdy Tellez homered in the loss for the Brewers.

St. Louis retakes the lead in the NL Central by a game over Milwaukee with a 40-31 record while the Brewers drop to 39-and-32.

The two teams wrap up the four game series Thursday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. Cardinal Network coverage starts at 12:15 p.m. on 99.9 FM and AM 1240, KNEM.
