On the mound, senior Eli Cheaney lasted 5 2/3 innings giving up two runs on six hits with a pair of strikeouts. One of the Fort Scott runs came on a solo home run by Dryden Cosens in the sixth inning to pull the Tigers to within the final four run margin.
Nevada finished the regular season at 16-6 and will now get ready for the Class 4 District 12 Tournament at Harrisonville. The third seeded Tigers have a tough assignment in second seeded Pleasant Hill. The Roosters are 21-1 and ranked number three in Class 4 baseball. Penn says they'll show up ready to play.
Game time Tuesday is approximately 6:00 p.m. on the diamond at Harrisonville High School. It will follow a 4:00 p.m. contest between top seeded Summit Christian and the winner of Monday's matchup between Clinton and Harrisonville.
