Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occured in Joplin on Monday. A shooting was reported just after 6:00 p.m. Monday north of Fifth Street and Connor Avenue in Joplin. Local high school seniors are planning a Senior Spring Service Day. For the last few years, Lamar seniors have participated in Senior Spring Service Day. Lamar seniors signed up for their businesses to help, and LHS Counselor Afton Marti says the group was enthusiastic. Two area high schools will be hosting graduation ceremonies this Sunday. Nevada R-V Schools will host ceremonies for 185 graduating seniors on Sunday, May 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in Wynn Gymnasium.
