A Nevada resident was involved in a two vehicle accident that sent two Nebraska residents to the hospital.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the wreck occured at about 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon in Cass County on Interstate 49 at mile marker 165 near Peculiar.

A 2014 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 25 year old Kaylee Dye of Nevada was travelling south when she reportedly attempted to make a lane change and struck the side of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by 75 year old Penny Allen of Grand Island, NE. Allen lost control of her vehicle and went off the left side of the highway then went off the right side of the road overturning in a ditch.

A passenger in the Allen vehicle, 84 year old Betty Patrick of Grand Island, NE, was listed with serious injuries and taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Allen's injuries were said to be moderate and she was transported to Cass County Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville.

Dye was apparently not injured in the accident.
