THREE KILLED, TWO INJURED, IN ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN CEDAR COUNTY (UPDATE WITH CORRECTION)

Three teenagers were killed and two others were injured as the result of a one vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in eastern Cedar County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports in the fatality accident occured at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon three miles east of Jerico Springs on Highway B.

According to the Patrol, a 2006 Toyota Scion driven by 19 year old Clay Palmer of Cleveland, MO was westbound when he crested a hill and became airborne causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and overturn.

All three of those fatalities were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene. They included Palmer along with two passengers, 18 year old Ryan Chick of Cabool and 18 year old Logan Meerkatz of Cleveland.

Two other passengers were injured with 18 year old Bradley Kidwell of Cabool injuries listed as serious and 18 year old Taylor Ranney of Mountain Grove with moderate injuries. They were both taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

The Highway Patrol says only Kidwell was wearing a seatbelt. The fatalities are the 70th, 71st and 72nd in Troop D this year.
