NEVADA'S BARONE ALZHEIMERS CARE CENTER TO CLOSE ITS DOORS

Date: August 5, 2022, 4:54 pm

It appears the financially troubled Barone Alzheimers Care Center will be closing its doors soon.

NRMC Long Time Care Board Chairwoman, Judy Campbell, confirmed to KNEM/KNMO Friday the facility at 2101 N. Ash Street in Nevada will be closed. Campbell confirmed employees were notified of the future closure and transfer of patients on Thursday.

The Barone Alzheimers Care Center appeared to be on its way to closure several months ago before efforts were put in place to try and find ways to allow the facility to remain open.

According to the Barone website, staff at the facility are trained to respond to the person behind the illness, not the symptons of Alzheimers itself.

Campell says more details on the closure will be released soon.
