TWO TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER BEING FOUND IN STOLEN VEHICLE IN LAMAR

Two people were arrested early Thursday morning after being found in a reportedly stolen vehicle in Lamar.

According to reports, a Lamar police officer checked on an occupied vehicle on a closed lot in town. Two people were contacted within the vehicle who were identified as 40 year old Jarred P. Austin of Lockwood and 24 year old Tasha F. Storandt of Fenton. After the initial contact, Austin fled on foot but was later located and taken into custody. Storandt had active warrants from Cedar and Vernon Counties and was also taken into custody.
