
BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX HOLIDAY BEGINS FRIDAY

This weekend is the back-to-school sales tax holiday in Nevada. State, County, and City portions of the sales tax will not be applied to certain items used by students. Every year the State requires the City to give notice whether they will participate or not, and Nevada will again oblige, says City Manager Mark Mitchell.

Mitchell details some of the items eligible for the tax exemption this weekend.
There is a cap of on computer purchases. Taxes are not applied on purchase amount of up to $1,500 for a personal computer.
The back-to-school sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 5th, and continues through Sunday, August 7th.
