VERNON COUNTY MAN ARRESTED FOR STOLEN FIREARM CHARGES

A Nevada man was arrested for stolen property and stoelen firearms charges.According to the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, deuputies received a report May 4th that a woman had her purse stolen out of her vehicle in Deerfield. The victim reported her purse contained multiple identification documents and credit cards, as well as a handgun. The victim reported her card was used in multiple locations. Video footage showed 20 year old Daniel Hankins making the nearly $900 transaction at Walmart with one of the stolen cards. On Tuesday, May 10th Hankins was located and arrested in Nevada. Hankins is being charged with felony counts of stealing a firearm, stealing property, and fraudulent use of credit card. A bond hearing is set for Monday, May 16th.
