Obituaries

Georgia M. Fletcher passed away Saturday, October 19, at the age of 79. Services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, with burial to follow in the Alder Cemetery at Stockton. Visitation is scheduled between ten and eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, October 22, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital are suggested.

Lula Jane Bradley, Nevada, passed away Sunday, October 20, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin. The Nevada Daily Mail employee was 62. Visitation is scheduled between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, at Ferry Funeral Home and a private memorial service is to be scheduled later.

Chet Maynard, Lamar, passed away Saturday, October 19, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin. He was 58. Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar. The family receives friends between six and seven o'clock Wednesday evening, October 23, at the funeral home. Memorials to the American Heart Association are suggested.

Charles David "Chuck" Hennessey passed away August 2, 2019 at the age of 80. Arrangements are under direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott, and a graveside service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Fulton, Ks., with Father Rob McElwee officiating. Memorials to the Abide Hospice, Colorado Springs, Colorado, are suggested and can be made in care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.

Mathew S. Cross, Sheldon, passed away Wednesday, October 16. The truck driver, cattleman and former member of the El Dorado Springs school board was 51. Arrangements are under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home and a memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, at the Church of God (Holiness) with the Reverend Joe Trussell officiating. A committal in the Olive Branch Cemetery is to be scheduled later.

Valentine M. Petrus, of Bates County, passed away Monday, October 14, at the age of 80. A memorial service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26th, at the Cakvary Baptist Church, Nevada. Memorials to the Annie Armstrong Missionary of Disabled Veterans are suggested.

Charles Neil Storm, rural Nevada, passed away Saturday, October 19, at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin, at the age of 71. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and a memorial service is scheduled at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, at Nevada Elks Lodge $564 with a meal and fellowship to be included.

William James Gage, Lamar, passed away Tuesday, October 8, at the Mount Vernon Veterans' Home. The former U.S. Border Patrolman and Immigration Officer was 90. Service arrangements are under direction of the Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m, Monday, November 4, in the Lake Cemetery with Jack Winningham officiating.

William Thomas "Bill" Reed, Pleasant Hill, Mo., passed away Saturday, October 12. The brother of Joe Reed, Schell City, was 78. Arrangements are under direction of the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, and a private burial is planned. Memorials to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter are suggested.

Richard Dalton Gann, Nevada, passed away Sunday, October 13, at Moore-Few Care Center. The retired Nevada R-5 school district employee was 72. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry  Funeral Home and a private committal is to be scheduled later at Noel, Mo. Memorials to Vernon County Cancer Relief are suggested.

William Charles Westhoff, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, October 15, at the home of his daughter. The former truck driver was 82. Memorials either to Hospice Compassus, American Stroke Association or the local animal shelter are suggested.
