Obituaries

Richard Eugene "Rick" David. Nevada, passed away Wednesday, October 21. The former Honeywell/FRAM employee was 67. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and his family is to hold a private service.

Darrel Wayne Moore, of Greenfield and formerly Rich Hill, passed away Tuesday, October 20, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield. The retired construction worker was 71. Arrangements are under direction of the Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill and a graveside service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, in Rich Hill's Green Lawn Cemetery.

Wanda Johnsrud, Carthage, passed away Tuesday, October 20, at her home. The Stockton, Mo. native was 92. Arrangements are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and a private graveside service is planned in Lamar's Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Oaklynn Virgnia Shadden passed away Sunday, October 18, at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City. The daughter of Samuel Shadden and Courtney Scheckel was two months old. Arrangements are under direction of the Cheney-Witt Chapel, Fort Scott, and a graveside service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, in the Centerville Cemetery in Bourbon County, Ks. Visitation is planned between five and six o'clock Thursday evening at the Cheney-Witt Chapel and memorials to an Oaklynn Shadden Fund are suggested.

Phyllis Ellain Stout, formerly of Rich Hill, passed away Sunday, October 18. The former employee at hospitals in Appleton City and Clinton would have been 72 Friday, October 23. Services were scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at the Hill & Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, with Brother Jack Stout officiating. Burial's planned in the Appleton City Cemetery. The family receives friends between noon and one o'clock Thursday, October 22, at the funeral home and memorials either to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association are suggested.

Deuard Paul Bradbury passed away Monday, October 19. The Southeast Kansas native and machinist was 74. Arrangements are under direction of the Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, in the Bluff Cemetery at Verdella -- in Barton County.

Ron Bergman, Lee's Summit, passed away Saturday, October 17, in Independence, Mo. The retired O'Sullivan Industries employee was 81. Arrangements are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and services are planned at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at the Waters Cemetery. Memorials either to the Iantha Methodist Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital are suggested.

Douglas "Doug" Earl Johnson, Nevada, passed away Sunday, October 18, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. The 1981 Nevada High School graduate was 57. Funeral services are planned at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 22, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor Roger Beach officiating and committal will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery. The family receives friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the funeral home and memorials to a scholarship fund for Doug Johnson's children are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada

Ronald E. Wegener, Lamar, passed away Saturday, October 17, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield. The retired O'Sullivan Industries employee was 83. Arrangements are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and services are planned at Lamar United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24. Visitation's scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at the Lamar United Methodist Church and memorials to the Mary K. Finley Library, Lamar United Methodist Church and the Cox Barton County Hospital, Lamar, are suggested.

Lori Marie Hunt, Nevada, passed away Wednesday, October 14. The 1988 Nevada High School graduate and retired teacher at El Dorado Springs High School was 50. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Nevada with Bishop Tim Claypool presiding. Burial followed in Newton Burial Park. Memorials to the Foreign Language Scholarship at the El Dorado Springs R-2 School were suggested.

Marge (Smith) Long, Nevada, passed away Friday, October 16. The former resident of Mount Vernon, Illinois who moved to Southwest Misouri in 2018 was 84. A private family service was held Wednesday, October 21, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington Street, Nevada, Mo. Memorials to the Jefferson County, Illinois Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund were suggested.

Velma J. Eslinger, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, October 13, at the age of 92. Arrangements were under direction of the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and a graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery.

Joan (Griffith) Garrett has passed away at the age of 80. Services for the Carthage, Mo. native were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and burial followed in the Paradise Cemetery, Jasper, Mo.

Alice Louise McElmurry, Fort Scott, passed away Wednesday, October 14, at her home. The Bronaugh, Mo. native was 89. Arrangements were under direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott, and a graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Fort Scott. Memorials to the St. John's United Methodist Church in Fort Scott were suggested.

Andrew Isaac Jeffery, Nevada, passed away Monday at the age of 28. Services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at Ferry Funeral Home with Chris Jeffery officiating. Visitation was held just before the services.

Dale Middleton, Metz, passed away Tuesday at Tulsa, Oklahoma. The electrician who spent most of his life in the Miami, Florida area was 63. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and no services were planned.

Charlei Diane Dunfield passed away Monday, October 12. Services were held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, burial followed in the Clintonville Cemetery.

Christie Elaine Belcher, Fort Scott, passed away Monday, October 12. The restaurant co-owner and former employee at Heartland Behavioural Health Services in Nevada was 62. Arrangements were under direction of the Cheney-Witt Chapel in Fort Scott and a graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Fort Scott. Memorials to the Faith Church were suggested.

Larry J. Roberts passed away Friday, October 9, at the age of 72. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, at the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs and memorials to the First Christian Church of El Dorado Springs were suggested.

Pamela E. Shumaker passed away Saturday, October 10, about a week shy of her 59th birthday. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, at the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and burial followed in the Pleasant Springs/Oyer Cemetery.
