Obituaries

Evertt Lee Buckner, of Nevada, passed away Sunday, September 19th. The 1950 Bronaugh High School graduate was 90. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22nd, at Ferry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Bruce Lee Frieden, Liberal, passed away Friday, September 17, at the age of 61. Arrangements are under direction of the Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, in teh Apostolic Christian Faith Church Cemetery, Lamar. Memorials to the charity of the donor's choice are suggested and can be made in care of the Daniel Funeral Home.

David Dean Wyatt, Sr., Rich Hill, passed away Tuesday, September 14, at his home. The decorated Army veteran who served in Vietnam was 73. Arrangements were under direction of the Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and no services are planned.

Ben Jacob Decker, of Walker, passed away Saturday, September 18th, at Community Springs Healthcare, El Dorado Springs. He was 89. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home and services are planned at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 24th, at the Living Faith Mennonite Church, Walker, with burial to follow in the Living Faith Mennonite Cemetery, Walker. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 24.

Shane Eugene Miller, Reeds Spring, Mo., passed away Friday, September 17. The graduate of Liberal High School was 51. Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar. The family receives friends between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, at the funeral home, 1301 Gulf Sreet, Lamar. Memorials to the American Diabetes Foundation are suggested.

Betty Lou Emery, of Deerfield, Mo, passed away Thursday, September 16th. The 1951 Nevada High School graduate was 88. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 21st, at Ferry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield, Mo. Friends may call until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home. Memorials to the Deerfield Cemetery are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Gilbert Gene Harris, Nevada, passed away Thursday, September 16, at the K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, Ks. The retired Missouri Pacific railroad employee was 92. Services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, at Ferrry Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Daugherty officiating. Burial is planned in Newton Burial Park. The family receives friends between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, at the funeral home. Charles Eugene Baertschi, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, September 14, at his home. The 1967 Bronaugh High School graduate and former owner of Charlie's Electric, Nevada, was 72. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and a graveside committal service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23, in Newton Burial Park with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Jewell Braxten "JB" Helm, of the Kansas City area, passed away Sunday, September 12. The Harwood, Mo. native and former Ford Motor Company employee was 94. An outdoor service's scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, at the White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, Mo. and burial's planned at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 20, in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested and can be made in care of the White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, Mo.

Larry Ross Brasher passed away Monday, September 13. The Sheldon High School graduate was 77. Services were held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, at the Bland-Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton and burial followed in the Brasher Cemetery at Jerico Springs, Mo.

Glenna Rae Cartwright, of Nevada, passed away Tuesday, September 14th, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada at the age of 77. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home. No services are planned.

Wanda Sue Loveall, of Lamar, passed away Monday, September 13th, at the age of 86. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16th, Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar and burial followed in Lamar's Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family received friends between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15th, at Daniel Funeral Home. Memorials to the charity of the donor's choice were suggested and can be made in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Hailey Danielle McWherter, of Nevada, passed away Friday, September 10th, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City at the age of 27. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18th, at Ferry Funeral Home and burial followed in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family received friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 17th, at the funeral home. Memorials to a fund for her children were suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Lillian "Rosalie" Handly, of Nevada, passed away Monday, September 13th, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada. The 1950 Metz High School graduate was 88. The family's to receive friends from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 20th, at Ferry Funeral Home and a graveside service's planned at 11:00 a.m. in the National Cemetery, Ft. Scott, KS. Memorials to the Vernon County Youth Fair are suggested.

Sheila Kay Meritt, Nevada, passed away Friday, September 10, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. The retired employee at Ferry Funeral Home was 72. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, at Ferry Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Platt officiating a private burial is planned in the Moore Cemetery, Nevada.

Gary John McCauley, Sr., Harrisonville, Mo., passed away Thursday, September 9, at his home. The Spokane, Wa. native and Navy veteran was 82. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, at Ferry Funeral Home with Chaplain Brian Klein officiating. Burial was planned in the Moore Cemetery, Nevada.
