Obituaries

Randy Joe Rains, Richards, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 13, at Nevada Regional Medical Center at the age of 66. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 18, at Ferry Funeral Home with Pastor David Beard officiating. A private burial is planned in the National Cemetery at Fort Scott.

Travis L. Bryson, El Dorado Springs, passed away Saturday as the result of a motor vehicle accident. The teacher and athletic director at the El Dorado Christian School was 45. Arramgements are imder directon of the Bland Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, at the El Dorado Springs Church of God (Holiness) with burial to follow in the El Dorado Springs Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled between six and eight o'clock Wednesday evening, November 13, at the Church of God (Holiness). Memorials to a fund for the family are suggested.

Glenna Rogers, of Liberal, pased away Monday, November 11th. She was 88. Arrangements are under the direction of the Konantz Warden Funeral Home, in Lamar, and funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 15th at the Liberal Christian Church. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

LaVerne L. Leininger, of Sheldon, passed away Saturday, November 9th at Truman Healthcare in Lamar. He was 89. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16th at the Sheldon Christian Church with Pastor Ralph Shead officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheldon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials to the Sheldon Christian Church or the charity of the donor's choice are suggested.

Robert Earl Post, Sr., El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, November 12, at the age of 79. Arrangements are under direction of the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and private services are planned.

Richard Wayne Decker, Sr., Lamar, passed away Friday, November 8, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. The Vietnam vet and former National Guardsman was 75. Arrangements are under direction of the Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and his family receives friends between six and seven o'clock Wednesday evening, November 13, at the funeral home with burial schedled at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, in the National Cemetery at Fort Scott.

Elizabeth G. "Liz" Meyer, Fort Scott and Kansas state PEO president, passed away Friday, November 8th, in Topeka, Ks. at the age of 78.  Arrangements are under direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home and a celebration of her life is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, at the Fort Scott Presbyterian Church, 306 S. Crawford Street. Memorials to Cottey College are suggested.

Sharon S. (Gonterman) Nelson, Raymore, Mo., passed away Saturday, November 9. The Sheldon, Mo. native was 82. Arrangements are under direction of the Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Mo., and visitation is scheduled between ten and eleven o'clock Thursday morning, November 14, at the funeral home with a service to follow. Burial is planned in the Willis Cemetery at Peculiar, Mo.
