Obituaries.

The Reverend Kenneth Burton Silver, Sr., Sheldon, passed away Wednesday, January 16, at the age of 62. A memorial service is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, at Ferry Funeral Home with J.D. Blackmore officiating. Memorials to the Spirit of the Wind Ministries, Jay, Oklahoma, are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Wanda :/ Yokley, Lamar, passed away Thursday, January 17, at the Medicalodges in Neosho. The retired Thorco employee was 91. Arrangements are under direction of the Konantz Warden Funeral Home, Lamar, and a graveside service is scheduled at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, January 22, in the Howell Cemetery near Milford. Visitation is planned between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, at the Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Dr. Glen Albert Defebaugh, Nevada and formerly Fort Scott, passed away Thursday, January 17, at the age of 77. A memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, at the Cheney-Witt Chapel, Fort Scott, with burial to follow in the Deerfield Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled between one and three o'clock Sunday afternoon, January 20, at the Cheney-Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott. Memorials either to the Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude's Hospital are suggested.

Madge Christine Baze, formerly Metz, passed away Tuesday at Moore-Few Care Center. The former Metz Postmaster was 99. Services are scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, at Ferry Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Moyers officiating. Burial is planned in the Balltown Cemetery at Horton. Memorials to the Rinehart Christian Church are suggested.

Timothy Wayne Stong, Sheldon, passed away Monday at his home. The 1984 graduate of Nevada High School was 52. A memorial service is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, at Ferry Funeral Home with Kenny Wilson officiating followed by an Elks service. Visitation is scheduled between noon and one o'clock Monday afternoon, January 21, at Ferry Funeral Home. Memorials to Vernon County Cancer Relief are suggested.

Linda D. Dougherty, Nevada, passed away Sunday, January 13, at Nevada Regional Medical Center.  The home health care provider was 72. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and a memorial service is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Past or Abel Hagan officiating. Memorials to the Christian Record Services for the Blind at Lincoln, Nebraska are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Lana Sue Richardson, Walker and formerly Stockton, passed away Saturday, January 12, at her home. She was 72. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home and services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at the First Baptist Church, Nevada, with Dr. Kevin Dougherty officiating. Visitation is scheduled between ten and eleven o'clock Saturday morning at the church and memorials to a fund for the family are suggested.

Barbara Elaine (Kelley) Duncan, Walker and formerly Sedalia, passed away Friday, January 11, at a Nevada nursing home. Arrangements are under direction of the Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia and a memorial service is to be scheduled later.

Gary Phipps, Joplin, passed away Wednesday, Janury 16, at Cox-Barton County Hospital, Lamar. He was 73. Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, at the Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, with burial to follow in the Apostolic Church Cemetery. The family receives friends between three and four o'clock Sunday afternoon, January 20, at Daniel Funeral Home.

Marilyn Sue Easley, El Dorado Springs, passed away Tuesday, January 15. The 1957 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School was 79. Arrangements are under direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services are scheduled at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, at the Park Street Christian Church, El Dorado Springs, with burial to follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled between six and seven o'clock Wednesday evening, January 23, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Memorials to the Senior Center in El Dorado Springs are suggested.

Pierce A. Chaffee, East Liverpool and formerly Nevada, Mo., passed away Tuesday, January 15, at his home. The U.S. Army veteran and construction worker/painter was 84. Arrangements are under direction of Amer Funeral Chapel, Chester, W. Va., and no services are planned.

John McClaskey, Marion, Ks., passed away Thursday, January 10, at St. Luke's Living Center. The father of Susy Gullett, Nevada, Mo., was 82. Arrangements are under direction of the Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Ks., and a graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, in the McPherson, Ks. Cemetery. Memorials either to the Marions County, Ks. Food Bank or St. Luke Hospital Foundation are suggested and can be made in care of the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson, Kansas.
