Obituaries

Merrit E. "Red" Young, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, January 16, at the Nevada Medicalodge at the age of 81. Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, at Ferry Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Burial is planned in Newton Burial Park. The family receives friends between five and seven o'clock Friday evening, January 19, at Ferry Funeral Home and memorials to a "Red" Young fund are suggested.

Kathy Marie Poe, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, January 16, at Nevada Regional Medical Center at the age of 60. A memorial service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Reverend Chris Deines officiating. Memorials either to the church or the Nevada Public Library are suggested.

Jerry Burgess Howard Adkins, Nevada, passed away Saturday, January 13, at the age of 50. Services are scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, at Ferry Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Adkins officiating.

Howard W. "Herb" Sellens passed away Thursday, January 18, at the Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Ks. The Bronaugh High School graduate was 86. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 22, at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, Ks., and burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, in the Milo, Mo. Cemetery. Memorials to the Clara Barton Hospital Foundation are suggested.

Betty Jeanne Million, Nevada, passed away Friday, January 12, at the age of 88. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 19, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Englebrecht officiating. Burial is planned in the Worsley Cemetery at Bronaugh. The family receives friends between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Ferry Funeral Home and memorials to a fund for the family are suggested.

Herman Klotz, Jr. passed away Saturday, January 13. The former security guard at 3M in Nevada was 83. Services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 19, at Ferry Funeral Home with Lawrence Cripps officiating. A private committal is scheduled in Moore Cemetery. Memorials to the Wounded Warriors are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Myrtle Skaggs, Lamar, passed away Sunday, January 14. The retired Nurse's Aid was 92. Her family receives friends between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, at Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, followed by a graveside committal service in the Maple Grove Cemetery near Sylvania, Mo.

Paul John Hales, Nevada, passed away Thursday, January 11, at the age of 62. A memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at Ferry Funeral Home.

Joe Bill Whisler, Granby, Colorado, passed away Wednesday, December 27. The Nevada, Mo. native and former president of the Missouri Bar Association was 70. A celebration of his life is planned at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the Plaza Public Library's Truman Auditorium in Kansas City. Memorials either to Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City or the National Audobon Society are suggested.

Helen F. Pettibon, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, January 16, at the age of 85. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home.

Gerald "Jerry" Kirbey passed away Wednesday, January 10. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home and a celebration of Jerry Kirbey's life will be held in the coming weeks. Contributions to the El Dorado Springs Elementary School are suggested and can be left in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Craig S. Beeman, of St. Joseph, Mo. and formerly of Nevada, passed away Sunday, December 31st in St. Joe. He was 69. Arrangements for Craig Beeman are under direction of the Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Creamatory in St. Joe and memorials either to the National Genealogical Society or the charity of the donor's choice are suggested.

Debra Sue Lowry, of Fort Scott, passed away Sunday, January 7 at the age of 62. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cheney-Witt Chapel in Fort Scott, Kan. and cremation was handled by the Cheney-Witt Chapel.
