Obituaries.

Darlene Nation, of Rich Hill, passed away Tuesday, May 14, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada. She was 93. Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, with burial to follow in Rich Hill's Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled between one and two o'clock Sunday afternoon, May 19, at Heuser Funeral Home.

Betty Jo Nelson, Hume, passed away Tuesday, May 14, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City. The 1973 graduate of Rich Hill High School and Home Care provider was 64. Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler, with burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery, Foster, Mo. Visitation is scheduled between one and two o'clock Monday afternoon, May 20, at the funeral home and memorials to a fund for the family are suggested.

Donna Ruth Needham passed away Tuesday, May 7, at Fort Scott, Ks. The retired Cottey College professor was 87. Arrangements are under direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, Fort Scott. Rosary is to be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Fort Scott, followed by the funeral mass with Father Yancey Burgess officiating. Burial is planned in Fort Scott's St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials either to St. Mary's Catholic School in Fort Scott or Cottey College, Nevada, are suggested and can be made in care of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, Fort Scott.

Joe "Pete" Erie, rural Fort Scott, passed away Thursday, May 16, at his home. The Stotesbury, Mo. native and founder the Bourbon County, Kansas Rural Departments would have been 83 May 29. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at the Cheney-Witt Chapel, Fort Scott, with the Reverend Virgil Peck officiating. Burial is planned in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family receives friends between five and seven o'clock Wednesday evening, May 22, at Cheney-Witt Chapel and memorials either to the Scott Township Fire Department of the Fort Scott Church of the Nazarene are suggested.

Donna L. Letton, Lamar, passed away Wednesday, May 15, at Pittsburg, Ks. She was 85. Arrangemetns are under direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar, and services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, at the Nashville Christian Church with burial to follow in the Nasville Cemetery. The family receives friends between three and four o'clock Sunday afternoon, May 19, at Daniel Funeral Home.

Linda D. Smith, El Dorado Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 8th, at the Bucksaw Marina in Henry County, Mo. She was 66. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Sheldon Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs with burial followed in the Clintonville Cemetery.

Dorothy Irene "Sissy" (Rountree) Hamby, El Dorado Springs, passed away Thursday, May 16. The retired Nevada State Hospital employee was 84. Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, at the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with burial to follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery.

John Virgil Cochran, Collins, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 16. The Lee's Summit, Mo. native was 79. Services are scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, El Dorado Spring, with burial to follow in the Freeman-Holsapple Cemetery. Visitation is planned between ten and eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, May 22, at the funeral home. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested and can be made in care of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Margaret Victoria "Maggie" (Bohrn) Garrett, formerly of the Nevada/Milo area, passed away Sunday, May 5, at the age of 73. Arrangements are under direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Mo., and a memorial service is to be scheduled later.

Taylor L. Eicholz, Drexel, passed away Sunday, May 5, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 23. Arrangements are under direction of the Mullinax Funeral Home and service plans are to be announced later.
